Institutes

The ten institutes are subject-specific organisational units within which focal disciplinary and thematic issues with regard to education in general and teacher training in particular are pursued. They fulfil a fourfold performance mandate by, for instance, being responsible for training modules, conducting research, development and evaluation projects, as well as service provision projects, and offering advanced education and training in their focal points.

Institute of Vocational Education and Training

This institute provides degree programmes and post-graduate courses for VET/PET professionals and nationally recognised research projects.

Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Health

This institute promotes the development of pupils and conducts research in the relevant subjects.

Institute of Digital and Computer Science Education

This institute provides courses and conducts research projects, as well as offering advanced training and providing services with regard to digitalisation in education.

Institute of Early Childhood Education 0 to 8 years

This institute focuses on education from birth to eight years within the family, early childhood and care, kindergarten and school: play, language development and cooperation.

Institute of Social Studies Education

This institute is home to the subjects of x, y and z, as well as two departments (a and b). It deals with educational and societal issues in a wide variety of ways.

Institute of Cultural and Aesthetic Education

This institute promotes cultural and aesthetic education through music and through fine arts, technical arts, textile design and pictorial arts.

Institute of STEM Education

This institute is the contact point for the subjects of mathematics, NT (Nature and Technology) and «NMG» (General Science and Social Studies)

Institute of Educational Psychology

This institute focuses on educational and psychological diagnostics and individual support and differentiation.

Institute of Education and Professional Studies

This institute monitors and investigates educational processes at schools in order to support and promote pupils' learning and development.

Institute of Language and Literary Education

This institute aims to improve the teaching and learning of languages and the concomitant competencies.
