Youth in Eastern Switzerland

Youth, that is, the period between childhood and adulthood, has long been seen as a phase of life in its own right in modern societies.

Young people nowadays have more time and freedom to figure out their position and role in those societies. However, this greater scope for self-direction requires more independence and a broader range of skills and competences than in times gone by.

The modern-day youth of Eastern Switzerland has so far been subject to little scientific research. The Youth in Eastern Switzerland study seeks to close this gap by conducting a multi-topic survey among secondary school pupils.
