ACCOMPAGNA – Increasing educational opportunities for newly arrived migrant children
Within the ACCOMPAGNA project, students of the PHSG provide training and support to children who migrated recently in our country.
The project sees the teaching students visit the children at their school for a period of six to twelve months. During this period, each child receives once-weekly individual tutoring on school subjects and learning strategies. The project helps to improve educational opportunities of newly arrived migrant children, and to prepare trainee teachers for the task of integrating these children into their classes. The students’ involvement in the project is recognised as part of their respective academic course.
